The 151 Squadron motto "Foy pour Devoir" translates into "Fidelity unto Duty".

The crest consists of an owl with outstretched wings indicating the Night Fighter role of the Squadron in World Wars I & II. The seax upon which the owl is alighting comes from the arms of the County of Essex, the County in which the Squadron was first formed in 1918.
